The Gariep Catfish, Clarias Gariepinus, is a catfish endemic to South Africa. It is a favourite freshwater game fish. The Gariep Catfish grows up to 1.7m long and can weigh 60kg. As a mermaid tail, it comes with a set of ten barbels, a dorsal and a pelvic fin. The caudal fin is minimal, for a streamlined, powerful and low-drag swimming experience, allowing the mermaid maximum freedom in the water.
