Zircon Galjoen

The galjoen (dichistius capensis) is the national fish of South Africa, and endemic to our coastal waters. If you are very lucky, among the large schools of flashing warm silvery fish, you might just catch a glimpse of one of the three galjoen mermaids!

Their tail colours represents the striking gemstones found in South Africa. You are sure to find your favourite – whether you prefer to keep it natural: Hematite like the wild fish, or embrace the rich blue of Zircon from the Limpopo province, or the regal KwaZulu Natal Amethyst.

The galjoen tails come with an array of additional fins: spiny ventral fins, pectoral fins, dorsal and anal fins are sure to leave an impression.
The caudal fin is minimal, for a streamlined, powerful and low-drag swimming experience, allowing the mermaid maximum freedom in the water.

Crafted from a blend of 82% Poly and 18% Elastane, the “Galjoen” tail ensures exceptional breathability, efficient moisture-wicking, and rapid drying, keeping you comfortable throughout your mermaid adventures. For safety, remember never to swim with a mermaid tail without a monofin.  Always make a splash with a buddy by your side, and keep a close watch on the little mermaids and mermen in the water. Safety first!
